Refund policy

We stand behind every product we make. If something isn't right, we want to fix it. Because we sell chemical formulations and specialty textile products, please read our policy carefully before purchasing.

General Rules All return requests must be submitted within 30 days of the delivery date. A photo or video of the item is required before any return or replacement is approved. Items purchased on sale or as part of a bundle are final sale — no returns or exchanges. Refunds are processed within 5–7 business days of us receiving the returned item.

Chemical Products This includes LATHER, BOND·9, MIST, REFINE, OBSIDIAN, CLARITY, HABITAT, FLUX, and any future Detail Labs chemical formulations.

Opened products are non-returnable. Due to the nature of chemical formulations, we cannot accept returns on any opened, used, or partially used product.

  • Arrived damaged or leaking: Submit a photo within 30 days. We will send a full replacement at no charge — no return required.
  • Wrong item received: We cover return shipping and send the correct product immediately.
  • Unopened and unused in original packaging: Eligible for return within 30 days. Customer pays return shipping. A 15% restocking fee applies.

Microfiber Towels & Accessories Used or washed towels are non-returnable. Once a microfiber towel has been used or laundered, it cannot be returned under any circumstances.

Restocking Fee A 15% restocking fee applies to all eligible returns. This fee is deducted from your refund automatically. Example: a $40 return receives a $34 refund after the $6 restocking fee.

How to Start a Return

  1. Email support@detail-labs.com with your order number and photos of the item.
  2. We will respond within 1–2 business days with approval or denial.
  3. If approved, ship the item back using a trackable carrier. You are responsible for return shipping costs unless the error was ours.
  4. Once received and inspected, your refund will be issued within 5–7 business days to your original payment method.

Chargebacks & Disputes We strongly encourage you to contact us before initiating a chargeback. We resolve legitimate issues quickly and directly. Chargebacks filed without contacting us first may result in your account being flagged and future orders declined.
