Limited Warranty
DETAIL LABS LIMITED WARRANTY
Effective Date: July 30, 2026 · Last Updated: July 30, 2026
PLEASE READ THIS LIMITED WARRANTY CAREFULLY. IT LIMITS OUR OBLIGATIONS TO YOU AND DEFINES YOUR SOLE AND EXCLUSIVE REMEDY.
1. WARRANTOR AND SCOPE
This Limited Warranty (the “Warranty”) is provided by Pipeline Vending LLC d/b/a Detail Labs (“Detail Labs,” “we,” “us,” or “our”), 2200 N Frazier St Ste 120, PMB 246, Conroe, Texas 77303.
This is a LIMITED WARRANTY as that term is designated under the Magnuson–Moss Warranty Act, 15 U.S.C. § 2301 et seq.
This Warranty applies only to Detail Labs products purchased new and unused from detail-labs.com or from an authorized Detail Labs retailer, installer, Preferred Partner, or sales representative. It does not apply to products obtained from unauthorized resellers, third-party marketplaces not operated by Detail Labs, auction or resale platforms, or any source not authorized by us in writing. Products from unauthorized sources may be counterfeit, expired, diluted, or improperly stored, and carry no warranty of any kind.
This Warranty extends only to the original purchaser and is non-transferable. It does not transfer with the sale of a vehicle.
2. PRODUCTS COVERED
This Warranty covers two categories of goods, which are warranted on different terms:
- Chemical products — BOND·9, LATHER, MIST, REFINE, OBSIDIAN, CLARITY, HABITAT, FLUX, and any other liquid or chemical product, including those sold in bundles.
- Hardware and accessories — the Detail Labs foam cannon, the twisted-loop drying towel, applicator blocks, suede and microfiber cloths, and any other physical tool or accessory.
Bundles are warranted according to the terms applicable to each component product.
3. PRODUCT DEFECT WARRANTY — ALL CHEMICAL PRODUCTS
Detail Labs warrants that, for ninety (90) days from the date of delivery, each chemical product will be free from defects in materials and manufacture and will substantially conform to its published specifications when stored and handled as directed.
This defect warranty does not cover product that has been: used beyond the shelf life or expiration date printed on the container; frozen or exposed to temperatures outside the range stated on the label; decanted, diluted, mixed, or combined with any other substance; contaminated after opening; or damaged after delivery.
4. BOND·9 DURABILITY WARRANTY — 24 MONTHS
Subject to every condition in Section 12 and every exclusion in Section 13, Detail Labs warrants that BOND·9 will maintain hydrophobic performance on properly prepared factory painted surfaces for twenty-four (24) months from the date of application.
“Hydrophobic performance” means the treated surface’s ability to cause water to bead and sheet off. A warranty failure means the complete loss of water-beading and sheeting behavior across a treated panel. It does not mean a gradual reduction in bead tightness, sheeting speed, gloss, slickness, optical depth, or self-cleaning behavior, all of which are normal and expected characteristics of coating wear and are not covered.
Twenty-four (24) months is the full and only durability period warranted for BOND·9. No representation, statement, advertisement, product description, blog article, product review, social media post, demonstration, or verbal or written statement by any person — including any Detail Labs owner, employee, contractor, sales representative, installer, Preferred Partner, retail partner, affiliate, or creator — creates any warranty of longer duration or any warranty different from the terms of this document.
5. MIST — PERFORMANCE ESTIMATE, NOT A DURABILITY WARRANTY
MIST is covered by the Product Defect Warranty in Section 3.
MIST is described as providing protection for up to nine (9) months, including in materials that describe this figure as manufacturer-rated. This figure is a maximum estimate observed under favorable conditions and consistent reapplication — it is not a warranted duration. Favorable conditions include a garage-kept vehicle, moderate climate, low UV exposure, gentle hand washing, and reapplication at the recommended interval. Actual duration varies substantially with climate, UV exposure, wash frequency and method, environmental contamination, driving conditions, reapplication frequency, and the condition of the underlying surface, and will commonly be shorter.
Detail Labs does not warrant any specific duration of performance for MIST. No claim may be brought under this Warranty based on MIST failing to reach nine months or any other period.
6. EXTENDED SERVICE LIFE — EXPRESSLY NOT WARRANTED
Detail Labs states that the service life of a BOND·9 coating may extend well beyond the 24-month warranty period — potentially in the range of five (5) to ten (10) years — when the coating is regularly maintained and periodically topped with a compatible maintenance product such as MIST, and when the vehicle receives consistent proper care. Related statements appear in our product descriptions, including references to multi-year protection and to BOND·9 and MIST working together as a system.
ALL SUCH STATEMENTS ARE GENERAL PERFORMANCE OBSERVATIONS. THEY ARE NOT A WARRANTY, GUARANTEE, PROMISE, OR REPRESENTATION OF ANY KIND, AND THEY ARE EXPRESSLY EXCLUDED FROM THIS WARRANTY.
Extended service life depends entirely on variables outside our knowledge and control, including climate, garaging, wash discipline, topping frequency, driving environment, chemical exposure, and the condition and age of the underlying paint. Detail Labs makes no warranty, express or implied, of any performance period beyond the twenty-four (24) months expressly warranted in Section 4. No claim may be made, and no remedy is available, under this Warranty on the basis of any extended service life or multi-year protection statement.
7. PUBLISHED PERFORMANCE SPECIFICATIONS AND TEST VALUES
Our product materials cite specific technical values, including water contact angle ranges for BOND·9, pencil hardness ratings referencing ASTM D3363, pH ranges for LATHER, fabric weight and absorbency figures for microfiber products, pressure ratings and material specifications for hardware, and descriptions of formulation chemistry.
These values describe product characteristics measured or specified under controlled conditions on properly prepared substrates. They are technical specifications, not warranted field results. Real-world measurements vary with substrate condition, surface preparation, application technique, environmental conditions at application, cure conditions, age, wear, contamination, measurement method, and instrumentation.
Detail Labs does not warrant that any product will achieve, sustain, or continue to measure at any specific contact angle, hardness rating, pH value, absorbency figure, or other numeric specification on your vehicle or over any period of time. Hardness ratings describe resistance to marring under a standardized test and do not mean a surface is scratch-proof, chip-proof, swirl-proof, or impact-resistant. Specifications may change without notice as formulations are revised.
8. CHEMICAL AND ENVIRONMENTAL RESISTANCE — RESISTANCE IS NOT IMMUNITY
Our materials describe BOND·9 and other products as resisting UV, fuel, solvents, alkaline wheel cleaners, bird-dropping etching, water spotting, and other environmental and chemical exposure, and describe the coating as taking the hit so the clear coat does not.
These statements describe relative, time-limited resistance under normal conditions. They are not a representation of chemical immunity, permanence, or complete protection, and they do not warrant that the underlying paint will never be damaged.
A coating is a sacrificial layer. It reduces the rate and severity of damage; it does not eliminate it. Any contaminant — including bird droppings, insect remains, tree sap, hard water, industrial fallout, and acidic or alkaline chemicals — will etch, stain, or damage a coated surface and the paint beneath it if left in place, allowed to bake in sun or heat, or exposed repeatedly or for a prolonged period. Contaminants must be removed promptly and properly. Damage arising from contaminants that were not promptly removed, from prolonged or repeated chemical exposure, or from exposure exceeding normal consumer conditions is excluded under Section 13 notwithstanding any resistance statement.
9. NOT INSURANCE — NO COVERAGE FOR PAINT CORRECTION OR REPAIR COSTS
Our materials use protective analogies and reference the typical cost of paint correction, polishing, and refinishing services in describing the value of coating a vehicle.
DETAIL LABS PRODUCTS ARE NOT INSURANCE, ARE NOT AN INSURANCE PRODUCT OR SERVICE CONTRACT, AND ARE NOT A GUARANTEE AGAINST PAINT DAMAGE OR AGAINST THE COST OF REPAIRING IT. DETAIL LABS IS NOT AN INSURER AND PROVIDES NO INDEMNITY OF ANY KIND.
Cost figures cited for paint correction, polishing, refinishing, or professional coating installation are general market estimates for illustration only. They are not quotes, not commitments, and not amounts Detail Labs will pay or reimburse under any circumstance. Detail Labs will not pay, reimburse, or contribute to the cost of any paint correction, polishing, respray, refinishing, body shop work, detailing service, or vehicle repair of any kind. The sole and exclusive remedy under this Warranty is stated in Section 14.
10. HARDWARE AND ACCESSORIES
Foam cannon. Warranted for one (1) year from delivery against defects in materials and workmanship under normal consumer use. This warranty excludes: wear items including O-rings, seals, gaskets, filters, mesh, and the pickup tube; damage from operation above the stated maximum pressure rating; use with chemicals other than a dedicated automotive foaming shampoo, including solvents, acids, bleach, or corrosive products; use with water above the stated temperature limit; freezing; dropping or impact; disassembly or modification; and normal cosmetic wear. Compatibility with any particular pressure washer is addressed in Section 11.
Drying towel, cloths, and applicators. Warranted for ninety (90) days from delivery against manufacturing defects such as failed stitching or binding. This warranty excludes normal wear, pile loss, staining, reduced absorbency over time, and any damage or reduced performance caused by laundering with fabric softener, bleach, high heat, or contaminated media, or by use on abrasive, greasy, or heavily soiled surfaces. Statements regarding service life across many washes are estimates based on proper care, not warranted terms.
Marring caused by contaminated media. Detail Labs does not warrant against scratches, swirls, or marring caused by any towel, cloth, mitt, or applicator that has picked up grit or debris, been dropped, been laundered improperly, or been used on a contaminated surface. Inspect all media before every use.
11. THIRD-PARTY EQUIPMENT COMPATIBILITY
Our materials reference third-party pressure washer brands and standard fitting sizes to describe general compatibility. Detail Labs is not affiliated with, endorsed by, or sponsored by any third-party manufacturer, and all third-party names and marks belong to their respective owners.
Compatibility statements are general guidance only. Detail Labs does not warrant compatibility with, or safe operation on, any specific make, model, configuration, or modified unit, and does not warrant against damage to any third-party equipment. You are responsible for confirming that your pressure washer’s pressure and flow ratings, fittings, and manufacturer instructions are compatible before use. Detail Labs is not liable for damage to any third-party equipment, or for any injury or loss arising from incompatible, modified, or improper connection or operation.
12. SURFACE COMPATIBILITY AND MANDATORY SPOT TEST
Our materials describe products as safe or suitable for a range of surfaces, including paint, glass, chrome, plated and polished metal, plastic and painted trim, rubber seals, leather, vinyl, vinyl wrap, paint protection film, headlight lenses, and interior panels.
These statements are based on common OEM materials in sound condition. Aftermarket, specialty, and non-OEM surfaces vary enormously between manufacturers, production runs, and installations, and cannot be universally validated. This includes vinyl wrap, paint protection film, ceramic tint and window film, matte and satin finishes, single-stage and lacquer paint, Alcantara, suede, piano-black and gloss trim, uncoated or unsealed leather, aged or previously treated surfaces, and any repainted, refinished, or aftermarket-coated panel.
You must test any product on a small, inconspicuous area and evaluate the result before full application. Detail Labs does not warrant compatibility with, and is not liable for staining, discoloration, hazing, clouding, softening, swelling, lifting, adhesive failure, or any other damage to, any surface not tested in advance, any non-OEM surface, or any surface used contrary to published instructions. Statements that a product will not stain, streak, or build up describe expected behavior on compatible surfaces used as directed, and are subject to this Section.
Products must be applied only under the conditions stated in their instructions, including any requirement to work in shade, avoid direct sun, avoid application to a hot surface, or observe cure time.
13. SAFETY-CRITICAL SURFACES AND COMPONENTS
Vehicle controls. Interior products, including HABITAT, must never be applied to steering wheel grip areas, gear selector grips, pedals, pedal pads, footwell surfaces, or any surface where grip is required for vehicle control, or to interior glass in the driver’s field of view. Application to these surfaces reduces grip or visibility and can impair vehicle control. Detail Labs disclaims all liability for any loss, damage, or injury arising from application to any control surface or to driver-view glass.
Tires. OBSIDIAN and any other tire product is a cosmetic sidewall dressing. It is not a tire repair, restoration, preservation, or maintenance product; it does not affect, assess, restore, or extend tire structural integrity or service life; and it is not a substitute for tire inspection, correct inflation, or timely replacement. Never apply to tread, contact patch, or any braking or steering surface. Statements regarding rubber-protectant chemistry describe formulation characteristics and do not warrant tire condition, longevity, or safety. Follow your tire and vehicle manufacturer’s guidance. Detail Labs disclaims all liability for tire failure, blowout, tread separation, loss of traction, or any resulting damage or injury.
Brakes and safety systems. Do not allow any product to contact brake rotors, pads, calipers, sensors, cameras, radar or lidar housings, or lighting elements in a manner contrary to instructions.
14. COVERAGE, YIELD, AND DILUTION ESTIMATES
Statements regarding the number of washes, applications, vehicles, or details obtainable from a container, and any dilution ratio, coverage area, or cost-per-use figure, are estimates based on typical use at recommended dilution. Actual yield varies with dilution, vehicle size and condition, soiling level, application method, equipment, technique, and user preference. These figures are not warranted and no claim may be brought for failing to achieve them.
15. CONDITIONS OF THE BOND·9 DURABILITY WARRANTY
The 24-month durability warranty in Section 4 is valid only if all of the following conditions are met and can be documented:
- (a) Preparation. The surface was fully decontaminated and prepared in accordance with published Detail Labs instructions, including wash, iron and fallout removal, mechanical decontamination, correction of existing defects, and a solvent panel wipe immediately prior to application.
- (b) Application. The product was applied in accordance with published Detail Labs instructions, within the stated temperature and humidity ranges, to a clean and dry surface, and was allowed the full cure period before exposure to water or contaminants.
- (c) Substrate. The product was applied to factory-original automotive paint in sound condition, free of failing or delaminating clear coat, oxidation, active corrosion, and residue from any previously applied coating, sealant, wax, or dressing.
- (d) Product condition. The product was within its shelf life and was stored in accordance with the label at the time of application.
- (e) Maintenance washing. The vehicle was washed only with a pH-neutral shampoo using a two-bucket, foam cannon, or touchless method, with clean media, at reasonable intervals.
- (f) Periodic maintenance. The coating was periodically maintained with a compatible, ceramic-safe maintenance product. Detail Labs recommends MIST at intervals of no more than three (3) months. This Warranty is not conditioned on the use of MIST or any other Detail Labs product, and use of a competing compatible product will not void this Warranty.
- (g) Prompt contaminant removal. Bird droppings, insect remains, tree sap, fuel, industrial fallout, and similar contaminants were removed promptly and properly rather than being allowed to remain or bake on the surface.
- (h) No automated washing. The vehicle was never run through an automatic, tunnel, brush, or friction car wash.
- (i) No abrasives or aggressive chemicals. No polish, compound, clay, abrasive cleaner wax, or chemical outside a pH range of approximately 4 to 11 was used on the coated surfaces.
- (j) Records. The purchaser retained proof of purchase, the date of application, and a reasonable record of maintenance.
Failure to satisfy any one of these conditions voids the durability warranty in Section 4 in its entirety. The Product Defect Warranty in Section 3 is unaffected.
16. EXCLUSIONS — WHAT IS NOT COVERED
This Warranty does not cover, and Detail Labs is not responsible for, any of the following:
- Defects, failure, or degradation of the underlying paint, clear coat, primer, rubber, plastic, leather, or other substrate, including oxidation, fading, chalking, cracking, crazing, blistering, peeling, delamination, or clear coat failure, whether pre-existing or developing later.
- Any surface that has been repainted, refinished, blended, touched up, wrapped, filmed, or repaired, whether before or after application.
- Damage from collision, impact, road debris, rock chips, scratches, scuffs, abrasion, vandalism, theft, fire, hail, flood, storm, or any other casualty event.
- Chemical etching, staining, or marring from bird droppings, insect remains, tree sap, pollen, acid rain, industrial fallout, brake dust, rail dust, overspray, fuel, solvents, de-icing chemicals, or road salt — including where such contaminants were not promptly and properly removed, and notwithstanding any statement regarding chemical resistance.
- Hard water spotting, mineral deposits, or water-spot etching, including from sprinklers, well water, or allowing the vehicle to dry in direct sun.
- Damage or premature failure caused by improper preparation, improper application, application by an untrained party, application outside stated environmental conditions, application in direct sun where shade is directed, application to a hot surface, or insufficient cure time.
- Any product, coating, sealant, wax, dressing, topper, or treatment not manufactured by Detail Labs that is applied over, under, or in combination with a Detail Labs product.
- Use of automatic, tunnel, brush, or friction car washes; high-alkaline or high-acid touchless wash chemistry; steam cleaning; or pressure washing at excessive pressure or close range.
- Use of polishes, compounds, clay, abrasive pads, or aggressive chemicals on coated surfaces.
- Normal wear, gradual reduction in gloss or bead behavior, and cosmetic variation in appearance, finish, sheen, color, or texture, including variation in satin or matte finish level driven by application thickness.
- High-friction or high-wear areas, including door handle cups, rocker panels, lower fascias, leading edges, tire contact surfaces, and areas subject to repeated contact.
- Application to surfaces other than those identified in the published instructions for that product, and any damage to non-OEM or untested surfaces.
- Vehicles in commercial fleet, livery, rideshare, rental, off-road, competition, marine, or track use.
- Any use of a product contrary to its label, instructions, or Safety Data Sheet, or any use for a purpose for which it was not intended.
- Any product purchased from an unauthorized source, or any product with a removed, altered, or illegible label, lot code, or batch number.
- Costs of application, removal, reapplication, labor, paint correction, polishing, respray, refinishing, towing, storage, transportation, rental or loaner vehicles, loss of use, or diminished value.
17. SOLE AND EXCLUSIVE REMEDY
If a valid warranty claim is approved, your sole and exclusive remedy, and Detail Labs’ entire liability, is — at Detail Labs’ sole option — either (a) replacement of the defective product with the same or a comparable product, or (b) refund of the actual purchase price paid for the product at issue.
Detail Labs is not responsible under any circumstances for labor, application costs, professional installation fees, removal, reapplication, paint correction, polishing, respray, refinishing, body shop charges, detailing services, replacement of any vehicle component, or any other cost of any kind incurred in applying, removing, or remediating any product.
In no event will Detail Labs’ total liability under this Warranty exceed the actual purchase price paid by the original purchaser for the specific product giving rise to the claim.
18. HOW TO MAKE A CLAIM
Claims must be submitted in writing to support@detail-labs.com within thirty (30) days of discovering the issue and within the applicable warranty period. Claims submitted after these periods are barred.
A complete claim must include:
- Proof of purchase, including order number and date, and the name of the authorized seller if not purchased directly from detail-labs.com.
- Product name, size, and lot or batch code from the container.
- Date of application, ambient conditions at application, and a description of the preparation and application process followed.
- Maintenance history, including wash method, products used, and topping frequency.
- Clear photographs of the affected area in daylight, including a water behavior test showing the surface after being wetted.
- Vehicle year, make, model, color, paint condition, and whether any panel has been repainted, wrapped, or filmed.
- For hardware claims, photographs of the defect and a description of the equipment and conditions of use.
Detail Labs may request additional information, additional photographs or video, the return of unused product or hardware at the claimant’s expense, or a physical or third-party inspection of the vehicle. Failure to cooperate with a reasonable request voids the claim. Detail Labs will acknowledge complete claims within ten (10) business days and will make a determination within thirty (30) days of receiving all requested information. All warranty determinations are made at Detail Labs’ reasonable discretion.
19. PROFESSIONAL, INSTALLER, AND PARTNER APPLICATIONS
Detail Labs products may be applied by independent professional detailers, installers, Preferred Partners, and retail partners. These parties are independent businesses. They are not agents, employees, partners, or joint venturers of Detail Labs, and Detail Labs does not control, supervise, or direct their work.
Detail Labs warrants its products only. Detail Labs does not warrant any third party’s workmanship, preparation, application, paint correction, surface preparation, service quality, scheduling, pricing, conduct, or business practices, and is not liable for any damage, loss, or injury arising from them. Any warranty, guarantee, or service commitment offered by an installer or partner is that party’s own obligation, made in its own name and on its own behalf, and does not bind Detail Labs. Claims relating to workmanship must be directed to the applying party.
Products purchased for resale or professional application are governed by the applicable wholesale, installer, retail partner, or consignment agreement, which controls over this Warranty to the extent of any conflict.
20. STATEMENTS ABOUT OUR OWN USE AND PERFORMANCE COMPARISONS
Our materials state that we use our products on our own vehicles before they ship, and invite customers to tell us if a product does not outperform what they are currently using.
These statements describe our development practice and are an invitation for customer feedback. They are not a warranty, a performance guarantee, a guarantee of superiority over any other product, or a satisfaction or money-back guarantee, and they create no obligation beyond the express terms of this Warranty and our published return policy. Comparisons to other products, categories, or price points are our opinion and general industry commentary.
21. DISCLAIMER OF ALL OTHER WARRANTIES
THIS LIMITED WARRANTY IS THE ONLY EXPRESS WARRANTY DETAIL LABS PROVIDES AND IS GIVEN IN PLACE OF ALL OTHER WARRANTIES, EXPRESS OR IMPLIED. EXCEPT AS EXPRESSLY STATED IN THIS DOCUMENT, ALL PRODUCTS ARE PROVIDED “AS IS” AND “WITH ALL FAULTS.”
TO THE FULLEST EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, DETAIL LABS DISCLAIMS ALL IMPLIED WARRANTIES, INCLUDING THE IMPLIED WARRANTIES OF MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, AND NON-INFRINGEMENT. WHERE IMPLIED WARRANTIES CANNOT BE DISCLAIMED, THEY ARE LIMITED IN DURATION TO THE DURATION OF THE APPLICABLE EXPRESS WARRANTY PERIOD STATED ABOVE.
22. LIMITATION OF LIABILITY
TO THE FULLEST EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, DETAIL LABS WILL NOT BE LIABLE FOR ANY INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, EXEMPLARY, OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES, OR FOR LOST PROFITS, LOST REVENUE, LOSS OF USE, LOSS OF BUSINESS, DIMINISHED VEHICLE VALUE, OR COST OF SUBSTITUTE GOODS OR SERVICES, ARISING OUT OF OR RELATING TO ANY PRODUCT OR THIS WARRANTY, WHETHER BASED IN CONTRACT, WARRANTY, TORT, STRICT LIABILITY, OR ANY OTHER THEORY, AND EVEN IF ADVISED OF THE POSSIBILITY OF SUCH DAMAGES.
This limitation does not apply to liability that cannot be limited or excluded under applicable law, including liability for personal injury caused by our gross negligence or willful misconduct.
23. YOUR RIGHTS UNDER STATE LAW
Some states do not allow limitations on how long an implied warranty lasts, or the exclusion or limitation of incidental or consequential damages, so the above limitations or exclusions may not apply to you. This Warranty gives you specific legal rights, and you may also have other rights which vary from state to state.
24. GOVERNING LAW AND DISPUTES
This Warranty is governed by the laws of the State of Texas, without regard to its conflict of laws principles. Any dispute arising under this Warranty is subject to the dispute resolution provisions of the Detail Labs Terms of Service, which are incorporated here by reference. Where those provisions do not apply, exclusive venue lies in the state or federal courts located in Montgomery County, Texas.
25. GENERAL
Detail Labs may modify this Warranty at any time. The version in effect on the date of your purchase governs your purchase. If any provision of this Warranty is held unenforceable, that provision will be modified to the minimum extent necessary or severed, and the remaining provisions will remain in full force and effect. No employee, contractor, representative, installer, or partner has authority to modify, expand, or waive any term of this Warranty, and any purported modification is void unless made in writing and signed by an authorized officer of Pipeline Vending LLC.
